She attracts the affection of Shioda, one of the water polo boys, but finds him somewhat annoying. Amamiya ( 雨宮) Chisato's water polo teammate with short dark hair and known for her "rocket breasts". She is especially attracted to virgins, hoping to take their first times, but at the school she mainly directs her efforts at the oblivious Hamaji. Manami Miyoshi ( 美好 まなみ, Miyoshi Manami ) Voiced by: Shizuka Itō A former star player of the high school's water polo team, Miyoshi is a university student who volunteers with the school as an assistant coach. She has a crush on Chisato and joined the water polo team because of it. Mai Shinozaki ( 篠崎 舞, Shinozaki Mai ) Voiced by: Yurika Kubo Chisato's teammate. He is not interested in being on the high school team but is interested in Chisato. Mano ( 真野) A handsome second-year student who was a former water polo star in middle school. He is usually seen wearing sunglasses and is always unashamedly perverted, ogling the girls and talking about having had sex with them in his fantasies many times over. Nakajima ( 中島) Voiced by: Kenta Matsumoto A second-year student and member of the water polo team. Her manga profile describes her as a bit clumsy personality and inexperienced when it comes to relationships. She takes the sport seriously, but cannot stand the pervertedness of the boys team. Chisato Hagiwara ( 萩原 千里, Hagiwara Chisato) Voiced by: Maaya Uchida A second-year student and star of the girls water polo team. He initially does so just to get the girls but falls in love with Chisato, and tries to better himself. He then tries to take water polo seriously to try to win her heart.Ĭharacters Yōhei Hamaji ( 浜路 洋平, Hamaji Yōhei ) Voiced by: Yuma Uchida A first-year high school boy who is recruited into the water polo team. Hamaji is berated by the girls' star player Chisato Hagiwara, but develops a crush on her because she is one of the girls who actually cares about him. He is recruited by Nakajima, a perverted upperclassman, to join the school's water polo team, under the premise that they get to do co-ed practice with the girls team and can touch them all they want during those sessions. Yōhei Hamaji is a high school student who is considered trash for being unpopular with the girls. The scanlator also needs a real proof reader. Character growth with too much fan service will ensue. Just another ecchi manga where the MC can get close to a girl through some activity with ulterior motives. I find it funny that "dick" is listed under the categories, though. The dick grabbing is accurate, but I can't see a young girl doing that even if competing against a man. It's one of those where you can foresee how the story will go. The events are very generic, but the formula work for those who enjoy this type of manga. Since I dislike ecchi, I got to the 7th chapter and dropped it. If you're into ecchi with some comedy, then I suppose it would be a decent read. There's so much underwater grabbing that if a man were to do that to a woman he would likely go to jail for sexual assault. Not to mention the notion of having a co-ed water polo club is ridiculous. It seems to have potential, but my prejudice keeps me from enjoying it. I just don't find cartoon girls with warped faces attractive (giant eyes like a baby, unrealistic breasts, etc.). There are some funny parts, but all the fan service annoys me. Like another person posted, it's got the generic perverted, boring MC who joins a club for "perverted" reasons, but ends up wanting to help the team when he falls in love with the heroine. I put my prejudice against ecchi manga aside when a friends suggested I read it because it was pretty funny. PS: After a whole lot of hi-jinx, a nice romance develops. My tentative guess is this ecchi-hatred is the Standard Thing to Say in manga reviews these days-perhaps driven by the social justice warrior atmosphere of that News Network about Anime that we all know so well.Īnyway, other boys not so influenced are likely to love this. Oh, I can see not liking it when it's clumsily done or the girls are poorly drawn, but the main girl here is super-sexy, and innocent-seeming at the same time, and beautifully drawn. I'm puzzled by guys here who profess not to like ecchi. I love this story as a throwback to myself at that age-with a way more exciting setting and cuter girls than were around when I was young. We've got in this manga the four great things that ordinary, everyday boys would like in a story: a sport to try to master, an intense competition with another (irritating) boy to try to win, a cute girl whom the weak main character is hopelessly attracted to, and finally lots of ecchi. who are obsessed with sex, as many boys at that age are.
